From 6-13 June 2010, a Regatta in Germany with a difference, will make a difference. Two lakes, one invisible opponent, 1000 miles, one very grateful charity.
Two Corsair Marine trimarans, a DASH 750 and a 31UC will compete - one on Lake Chiemsee and the other on Lake Starnberger See.
On 6 June, the starter's gun shall be fired and both trimarans shall shoot off for a week of non stop high speed sailing action. Their objective is to cover 1,000miles before their opponent. The other shall be invisible to the naked eye - but thanks to the benefits of technology, they shall be able to track each other like hawks with GPS and cameras.
For every mile sailed on the Starnberger See and Chiemsee, money will be raised for theSternstunden Charity at the rate of 10 Euro per sea mile.
This is an unconventional regatta for a good cause…
