Corsair Performance Sailing Clinic Comes to San Diego!

West Coast Multihulls (WCM) and Corsair Marine are pleased to present the Corsair Performance Sailing Clinic, geared toward sailors looking to get the most out of their Corsair Trimarans.

San Diego, CA - September 12, 2011.

West Coast Multihulls (WCM) and Corsair Marine are pleased to present the Corsair Performance Sailing Clinic which is geared toward sailors looking to get the most out of their Corsair Trimaran. WCM's own Mat Bryant will be leading this two-day event covering a wide range of proven techniques for properly setting up, tuning and sailing these boats in order to maximize speed on all points of sail.

"We saw an unmet need in the marketplace, and a lot of sailors who maybe weren't getting the most out of their boats. There's no reason why every Corsair sailor shouldn't come in off the water every time with an ear-to-ear grin that lasts for days," explains West Coast Multihulls' Mat Bryant.

"Our goal with this clinic is to give them the tools they need to get there."

The Corsair Performance Sailing Clinic is supported by Corsair Marine, North Sails and West Coast Multihulls, and offers new and veteran trimaran sailors the chance to take their sailing to the next level.

The two-day format will allow for a mix of performance sailing theory and technical discussions in the classroom, with plenty of on-the-water coaching sessions on a variety of Corsair trimarans. Bryant and other WCM staff will work from a chase boat and shoot video for later review sessions.

Dates:Friday, November 11 to Sunday November 13, 2011 First two days are for the sailing clinic. The third day, Sunday, is to take participants out on a catamaran to view the AC45s)

Cost: $395, with discounts available for those who bring their own boat.

This event has been scheduled in conjunction with the AC 45's coming to San Diego for the America's Cup World Series event, in the run-up to America's Cup 2013. After the on-the-water session wraps up on Sunday, all participants will have the opportunity for some up-close and personal viewing of these incredible racing machines aboard one of WCM's luxury cruising catamarans. Sit back, relax and watch as professionals put these amazing cats through their paces using many of the very same techniques you've just learned.

About Mat Bryant

Years ago Mat Bryant accepted a job at UK Sails as a Sail Consultant and was introduced to Corsair Marine and their trimarans. As soon as Mat stepped foot on a Corsair 24 and raced in a San Diego Beer Can he saw the potential for these boats and was hooked, looking for more.

Mat was put in charge of re-designing UK Sails factory direct Corsair program and spent time further developing their racing products. After joining North Sails in 2003, Mat saw the need for higher quality sails in the Corsair fleet and began to develop North Sails deigns for all the Corsair models. A fringe benefit of his new position was Mat's development as a professional racing sailor, traveling to regattas around the world. Mat's racing experience includes inshore one-design racing in Melges 24 to offshore racing on boats up to 130 feet, including 5 Transpacs. His successes are numerous and varied.
