In Vietnam, the Sprint 750 MK II received the thumbs up in August (see photo). Yesterday, it received the same response in the UK.
Rebecca Northcott from Corsair Marine's dealership in the United Kingdom, Multihull World, reports on yesterday's handover of the Sprint 750 MK II.
Just a quick note to say we had the handover sail with the new owner of the Sprint 750 MK II yesterday.
As the boat is going to Gibraltor, we felt it was important to give the boat a good shake down sail with the owner onboard. The owner has been with us for four days taking over and accepting the vessel.
We took him out yesterday in Chichester Harbour with 20-25 knots of wind and demonstrated how she performs on all points of sail. At one point, we were sailing at 35 degrees to the wind and the boat speed peaked at 17.8 knots! We consistently saw speeds ranging from 12-15 knots of boat speed under all points of sail - and under a reefed main with full jib! The the owner's face told the whole story - he was ecstatic with the performance of the Sprint 750 MK II.
The owner... has had his eye on ordering a Sprint since the model was first reviewed in Yachts and Yachting Magazine in 2006. So, this has been a long-held ambition for him. He has not been disappointed. He is very pleased with the build quality, the completeness of the package offered, and of course, with this exceptional performance on the boat's very first outing. It was a gusty day, but the way the boat handled has given him a great sense of confidence in how she will perform even with a reef in the main.
Thank you to all involved in the build. It was a pleasure to be delivering a boat to a client who was so clearly delighted with his new toy. He has chosen the name 'MisTriss' as his wife says she knows the boat will be his new love!! (For those with English as a second language, "MisTriss" sounds like "mistress". A mistress being a woman who is intimately involved with a married man!)
Can't wait for the next handover if that is how a Corsair trimaran makes a client feel..
