Corsair 37 "amazes" in Japan!

Corsair 37, Tang, before her maiden sail.

Brent Car is the proud owner of a new Corsair 37, "Tang", in Okinawa, Japan. Zam Bevan, Corsair's Manager for Trimarans Production has just flown over to Japan to help commission the boat for him. Yesterday, Brent has just forwarded the note below about Tang.

It's been a great few days here besides the overwhelming heat. Zam has been a rock star in getting everything together and everyone here pulled together to get the boat on the water on schedule. The mast is a work of art and everyone here is amazed on the quality and overall looks of the boat. Funny thing was it looks bigger in the water.

Today we went out on our maiden sail with zero problems. I have never sailed so fast before. Was a real treat. We sailed past my last boat double the speed and my Iphone Navonics said we reached 43 km! Zam keeps saying it wasn't that fast but there were times during the 2.5 hour test that we were flying! Most of the time, well over 11 knots - closer to 15.

The Corsair 37 is really in a class of its own as it has it all: speed, space and not too big. Also very easy to maintain: pull out of the water and keep clean. All the things that will make my life easier years down the line.

The boat was better than expected and all my friends are very impressed. One of my friends, a commercial pilot, will be flying over us while we are sailing so he will try to take a picture from the passenger plane.

Anyways, tomorrow should be fun...

By the way, Brent has posted a 40 second video of Tang in full flight on You Tube. How fast do you think she is sailing??
